It is 10 years since Swiftune built the last Road Rocket engines which proved very popular in the 1990s. The latest Road Rocket Gold will be 1380cc capacity with many proven motorsport components including Swiftune's Omega forged pistons and flow rig-developed cylinder head. Customers can chose between twin SUs or Weber 45DCOE carbs which deliver up to 120bhp! Leaving nothing to chance the Gold engine comes with a re-built transmission including Quaife straight-cut, close ratio gears and a four-pin diff.
While the Gold is the ultimate in road/track day performance Swiftune has also revived the Sports Tourer in new Gold spec with 100bhp of smooth, usable power. It comes with a re-built helical gearbox.
"The Road Rocket engines had a great following among Mini enthusiasts in the 1990s but we got so busy with race engines we had to call a halt but I am really excited that now we are back with the Road Rocket Gold," explains Nick Swift, " because we regularly asked when we will do another road engine." Be warned it maybe another decade before the Road Rocket returns.
