This year’s motorsport successes for Swiftune couldn’t have been more varied. Minis of every type, Formula Juniors, A40s and A series-powered sports car all took the laurels with Swiftune-power.
The roll call includes:
Roger Godfrey’s Mini Cooper S won the HSCC touring car championship outright
Ken Welch in his 1380cc Mini scooped the European-based British Car Trophy
Greg Carini’s 1460cc Mini took the French Saloon Car Championship
Colin Peacock was runner-up for the second year running in Mini Miglias
Stefan Wray’s DART driven by Nick Swift won the Fordwater Trophy at the Goodwood Revival while a the same prestigious meeting Crispin Besley was top A series competitor in the Formula Junior race and Richard Postins drove the wheels off his A40 to come third in the crowd-pleasing St Marys Trophy race
Vince Stone powered his way to the Dews hillclimb championship in the South West.
And in the world of Mini rallying there is nothing more prestigious than an ex works car. In recent months Swiftune has restored the engines for a number of famous Minis recognised the world over by their registration numbers: LBL 666D, CRX 90B, BJB 77D, GRX 555D.
