Trainee Engine Builder

We are currently seeking a trainee engine builder to join our small highly skilled team.

We are very proud of the fact that previous and current engine builders at Swiftune have started from the bottom and worked their way up to become an integral part of the team, building race/championship winning engines all across the world.

If you have an interest in Mini’s/historic motorsport and looking to progress within the industry as an engine builder, this is the perfect role for you.

Being a very hands on position, you will be starting from ground up, learning the basics of old school engine building, starting with stripping donor engines/gearboxes, cleaning and preparing parts. You shouldn’t be afraid of getting your hands dirty!

With this position comes great progression, we hope to develop our next trainee into a competent engine builder becoming an integral member of the team! How fast you progress really depends on you showing how motivated you are.

This is a full time, permanent position based in our fantastic, bespoke built premises in the idyllic Kent countryside.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

  • As a trainee position, previous experience isn’t necessary as full training is provided, however a passion for historic motorsport/Mini’s/A-Series engines is important
  • Must be able to make your own way to our location

Personal attributes:

  • To be an extremely motivated individual with the ability to work from own initiative
  • A good eye for detail is imperative and to be thorough in every job you do
  • A flexible approach to tasks and willing to be involved in all aspects of engine building
  • To be able to thrive in a typically high-pressured motorsport environment

Full time permanent position. Start date beginning April.
