Swiftune and Equipe Launch All-New Pre-66 Mini Race Series

12.1.25

Swiftune Engineering and Equipe Classic Racing are proud to announce the launch of the first dedicated series for Pre-66 Appendix K Minis. This new four-round series will provide Pre-66 Mini competitors with a long-awaited, stand-alone platform to race head-to-head — without competing against larger-capacity cars.

For decades, Pre-66 Minis have been fan favourites in historic motorsport, thrilling spectators with their “David vs Goliath” battles against Mustangs, Cortinas, and other big-engined rivals. Now, these iconic cars get a Series of their own.

“Swiftune has been promoting one-off Mini-only races for over 13 years to encourage more cars onto the grid,” said Nick Swift, owner of Swiftune. “There has been huge demand within the Mini community for dedicated and affordable races — not only to create closer, fairer competition, but also to make racing more accessible for everyone.”

Swiftune’s racing heritage stretches back to 1965, powering front-running Minis worldwide and becoming a mainstay at Goodwood Revival and Members’ Meeting events. Equipe Classic Racing brings its reputation for delivering competitive yet friendly historic racing to the series, ensuring every race embodies the true spirit of gentleman drivers.

As Rob Cull from Equipe Classic Racing says … “It’s been a long-standing ambition of ours to have a stand-alone Mini race and to now run this series with Swiftune is the perfect partnership. This makes for a really exciting platform for all FiA Mini owners to race on premium circuits, in an open and inclusive paddock. We cannot wait”

The 2026 series will kick off at Snetterton in early June, before heading to Donington in July, where the race will feature as part of Equipe’s Single Marque Sunday during the British Sports Car Weekend. The series then moves to the ever-popular Brands Hatch Mini Festival in late August, a highlight for Mini enthusiasts and a proven sell-out for Pre-66 Minis. The season will conclude at the iconic Silverstone Circuit in October, providing a fitting finale for the inaugural year of the series.

The series is open to Pre-66 FIA Minis and Mini derivatives built to Appendix K specification. For entry information and enquiries, please contact: georgie@swiftune.com
